I love the way my body has running memory. One day I will become better educated all around on running and I'll know just how true this idea really is, but for now my body makes me believe it. I think that means I've taught it well :) This past Sunday I conquered the 8 miler again. I was a little nervous, especially since I so brightly decided to jump from 5 to 8.... I take some crazy chances and most of the time they pan out... I'm thinking it's due to my body being an awesome rememberer of "I Can Do This!" It felt really great. My partner for the day and I actually pushed it to 8 and a half, we were so pumped up! My left hip is still bugging me a little bit, but with constant TLC it's getting better.Something my body has no memory of.... training for a sub 2:00 half. I'll be looking at training plans pretty soon. Kind of nervous/excited about that adventure! I think it's about time I did something besides just cross the finish line.
Side note: It's freeeeeeeeeeezing out when I run these days! I mean -FREEEEEEEEEEEEZING!! Like I think my legs have warmed up and then when I peel my running pants off and feel my skin it's icy to the touch.... wow.
I'm supposed to run 10 miles this weekend. I don't think it's going to be happening due to the upcoming visit from my awesome friend... a gal needs a little break sometimes :)
Happy Running Everyone!
This is where the rest of the stuff goes - Where I write about me and my personal journey running, tripping, staying fit, eating a batch of uncooked brownies, "gracefully" getting older and maybe even the kitchen sink!

It's 50 Flippin Degrees Out There!
Boy have I found a whole new kind of mental obsticle for running.
As if just not feeling like it somedays isn't enough, it was 50 degrees out there when I headed out this evening. "I don't friggin think so!" said one side of my brain. "Yes, you will!" said the other.... The next thing I knew I was catapulted out the door by my overachieving body!
I'm glad I went. It was a really great run. Especially with the abundance of Christmas lights out!! I do have to say, some of them sure are tacky! But some are the classic image of a winter wonderland; Can't wait to get our up this weekend :)

Fruits, Veggies, & Cold Weather!
Today, I got all my fruits & veggies in for my F&V Point for the HBBC! Even though I did have to throw the last 2 servings on my Sunday family make it yourself pizza. Which, by the way was awesome! I always use just plain tomato sauce with herbs... it's just better for you. Ingredients- organic tomatoes and from the earth herbs.... good stuff that I can pronounce. Tonight I added low fat mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes, and sliced asparagus! YUM!!
Anyway, I headed out for my 2miler tonight and it was soooo cold :) It's a crazy change, but welcomed. It makes me even more excited about our first fall/winter as a family. These are good times, folks! My run was great. My hip has been feeling much better in the past week. I think it really needed a break, some rest. I have just been going out there and running. I mean really running. Not pacing myself, just feeling it. So nice. I am looking for my next race, I think I've found one but I'm not in a hurry. This past year I've completed my first two half marathons and improved in so many ways. I'm excited about my past year in running and can't wait to see what I dig up for next year!

H-O-T
Good grief when will I learn?! It's 2:05 and I just got done with a 35 minute run... I knew I needed to go ahead and do it since we have pictures tonight so like a good little runner I did, but man it was HOT! I did take Scarlett with me which was nice. Much different running with the B.O.B. I like it though. I miss Kev, he's hurt his knee a little so he's been out since late last week. Hopefully he'll be back this week... Ready to be through these next couple of weeks, re-conditioning is so boring sometimes.
