Gross

Today I ate a spoonful of whipped cream, a handful of chocolate chips and two hotdogs..... WHAT is wrong with me???  Gross.
Just trying to keep this thing honest.

 I ran 4.2 miles last night?? Does that make it better? :)

Refresh, Refresh, Refresh

That's the name of the game today. I bet I'll probably refresh my class search page 20 times while I'm writing this! So I decided, rather late, that I was ready to go back to school. Nothing too crazy, just two classes, night school..... two classes that will be pretty hard, but whatever. So today is the day-ish that people who haven't paid get dropped and I get there classes! Yay! Only problem is that, unlike Hawaii, this school says that a computer does it on some type of schedule for the next three days!!! Are you kidding me?? So I've been semi-permanetely glued to this computer for the past 4 hours already... only 68 more to go! *fake smile* {{REFRESH, REFRESH}}

Training is going well, I was able to find a group of girls in my running group that also need to do night runs so that's been a fun addition. It sucks running at night by yourself and I have to admit it's a little scary sometimes. Last night I was winding up my 5 miles and found myself incredibly motivated by my charity adventure. I kept thinking that even though I've only raised $125 so far, in one week two people in a third world country far away will get a wheelchair because of my decision. How cool. I'm running, something they'll never be able to do, but it's providing them the means to simply get anywhere. I'm happy with my decision, I feel peaceful inside. This weekend I'm going to try to pound out 8.... it's a quicker jump than I'd normally make, but I'm pretty sure I can do it. I'll just have to stay paced, pay attention to my body and focus. *Cotton & Steel* (From Chi Running!)

Speaking of focusing, during this lazy day of refeshing I've managed to scarf down a nice plate of nachos and a creamsicle. Nice.... one more reason I hate this "refreshing day".... Oh and my class has come open at least 4 times but at the absolute wrong time :(

Back to it..... {{REFRESH, REFRESH}}

Unproductive Centerpiece

Well as unproductive as a centerpiece can be anyway....

Whose idea was this anyway????? This thing is setting me back all the calories I'm burning.... but I do love the way it looks, even though it looks kind of weird in this pic, but whatever..... it used to be full, but thanks to the Farntastic Four, it's not.

Vacation makes me SO MOTIVATED...

NOT!! So I'm back from the Big Island and I had quite the amazing time, but needless to say I haven't exactly been motivated. Tonight I did a nice 4 miler to put me back in the game. We're coming up on really less than a month for the Great Aloha Run and I'm really excited to be running it again. It's 8.3 miles and I think pretty decent scenery after you get out from under the bridge, lol!
Lately I've been thinking a lot about how much of a novice runner I really am. I have so much enthusiam for the sport that sometimes I forget what I really don't know. So, I'm determined to find a running group as soon as we get to Alameda. I think it will be great and teach me so much to be part of a group. Some real running commraderie ya know?...I'm also going to re-read Chi Running; this really great book that my great friend Joy gave me awhile back. I remember before I got pregnant it was helping me line my body and really feel how it all works together. It's way more than that, maybe I'll post some stuff from it as I get into it again.
I've started the 5 factor eating plan again. In 2008 I lost about 10-15 lbs upping my running game and eating along this plan. It. Is. Amazing. I love the food and it's not really expensive. It taught me how to look at food differently and it's stuck. Recently I've been having a really hard time with body image and whatnot after the baby so this is exactly what I need to jumpstart the solution.
Yep, that's about it for now! Happy Running and being healthy to everyone!!! :)

Those last 10 pounds

     Okay, I know little Letty is just 6 months old, but I'm just not a good waiter and I am really hard on myself. I only have 3 lbs to be back to the weight I was at before I was pregnant, but my body looks totally different. I have a goal of losing 5-10 more lbs to be were I want to stay. So I'm watching this show "The last 10 pounds" on FLN and this girl who has a much smaller waist than me eats the nastiest stuff ALL day long! HOW UNFAIR! I only drink water, except for drinky drinks (which is part of my NY resolution to drink WAY less), I eat red meat like 2x's a month. I eat tons of veggies and chicken and even use ground chicken and turkey for tacos or spaghetti. On top of that if I ever even have tacos I use whole wheat tortillas and ONLY whole wheat bread. I feel like that lady on the commercial for that Slimquick stuff... ya know, "my husband stopped eating white bread and he lost all this weight... I did it and .... nothing!" I know I have got to stop the cheating, because in the end it's not worth it and it's cancelling out all the great stuff I'm doing. So today I made myself a nice little note and stuck it to the fridge. I hope it helps, I need to focus. As I'm still watching this show the trainer is like "YOU CAN'T CHEAT", wow, I think he just said that for me... I'm sad because remember the whole 5 lbs in 10 days thing from the previous blog... yea well that's not gonna happen.

Plan:
STICK TO THE YUMMY GREAT FOODS I KNOW I SHOULD TO EAT
SHAKE IT OFF!
NO EXCUSES, JUST DO IT!

Running Rocks!!

     I overachieved today, Yay! Just got done with 3.10 miler in 36 min plus cool-down. Did Ab-Ripper X before I went. I feel soooo great! After about a week and a half I'm starting to remember that I know how to run, or at least my body is, lol! My knees are feeling less like I need a costco size WD-40 and my core is starting to feel more like a big strong oak tree and less like a charlie brown christmas tree, which is great because once I can get that back the running will be MUCHO easier. Putting my eating habits in check will probably take a little longer because it's such a habit & lifestyle change... but I'll get it. I'm pretty hard on myself as some of you know & have witnessed. I don't exaclty eat fried foods all the time and munch on chips. But I really want to get back to clean eating (which is basically just eating good foods the way they come... and I don't mean in a box, lol!) I'm re-adopting the idea that foods that are bad for me make me wanna hurl... Hey! It's mind over matter right?!? But I'm competely motivated and that means I can tackle anything!
